An artist used only one thread to recreate a Renaissance portrait of Christ 9/6/2016 • Rroberts
Knitting is not a very popular form of art, but the way Petros Vrellis creates his masterpieces is definitely going to change it...
This artist based in Greece uses computer technologies to design the patterns. A special algorithm was created specifically for the realization of this project. All Petros has to do is to follow the instructions designed by the program, and his performance is outstanding. The artist becomes a true master of the wire, hitching it to 200 small anchors attached to a circular loom.
This work is inspired by El Greco’s portrait of Christ. Watch the video to see an amazing process of its creation.
