A camera and mirror aren't that expensive. I'm pretty sure if you were a cave man that has only known the wilderness, you would be freaked out initially by encountering a mirror like this.

Richard schmidthe, a reflection in a pool of water and mirror are not the same! The mirror reflects everything you can see, it look real, and very accurate. I pool has ripples, is translucent, does not pose a threat because it doesnt look solid. You know what a mirror is and a cave man would freak out for while, just like aborigines reacting to photographs!

I think the difference is being below them with SOME distortion & standing in front of them as an undistorted individual unaffected by there surroundings i.e. Wind, other animals & what ever THEY'RE doing plus you have to take into consideration. The makeup of their eyes. They don't see like we do.

Animals are normally very territorial, that's why they acted up when they saw themselves, they didn't realize it was their on reflection.
