In which country is the city of Rosario located?

Rosario is the largest city in the central Argentina province of Santa Fe. The city is located 300 km (186 mi) northwest of Buenos Aires, on the west bank of the Paraná River. Rosario is the third-most populous city in the country. With a growing and important metropolitan area, Greater Rosario has an estimated population of 1,750,000 as of 2020.

Even though the city did not have a clear foundation date or any official acknowledgement thereof, most commentators state that Rosario was founded on 7 October 1793 with a local population of 457 inhabitants. Nonetheless, the town was officially declared a city on 3 August 1852, at the time it was known as Pago de los Arroyos, that is, "land of the streams", a reference to the several small rivers that traverse the southern region of Santa Fe.

Rosario is the centre of a metropolitan region whose economy is based on services and industry, generating the second-largest urban gross regional product of Argentina, after Greater Buenos Aires. The principal manufacturing sector is the agro industry. Other important sectors include the petrochemical sector.

Notable people from Rosario include the revolutionary Che Guevara, soccer player Lionel Messi and others.

This is no challenge anymore. I never heard of this city before, but judging from the unimaginative options, the correct answer was painfully obvious! SMH I'm really getting tired of this nonsense. I weep for the 13% who couldn't figure this one out. 🙄

William Laughlin, It seems that QuizzClub is being reformatted for the Primary School age kids. Lilly has contributed 864 questions, at least 95% percent of which are appropriate for that group. Inserting a telling clue within the question ensures getting the correct answer most of the time at that level. She now says that she answered 2 questions correctly (1 in movies and 1 in culture) and is at level 78 with a score of 93,355 points since joining 07/2021. It looks like she encouraged others to join her charade since there has been an explosion of new authors. With "old" members holding to too high standards (some of us seem to have stopped submitting questions) and admin submitting usually juvenile questions, how long can we expect this game to go on?

"Rosario" is a name is Spanish and the only Spanish speaking country from the four listed was Argentina. Easy.

anneli, Absolutely! Who submits questions without actually playing the game? They are so obviously Quizzclub Clones. Frankly, I don't understand the charade. Why not just post their questions as Quizzclub? The questions are so easily recognizable anyway by the juvenile nature of the options.

William Laughlin, I am sure Lilly doesn't know any other countries favoring a Spanish influence. The quizzclub has gone really down the drain and taken all the fun out of this game. Have you noticed all those new people joined the club in 07/ 2021 to 09/2021 have not answered any questions or just one like Lilly whose performance is !00%.

Louella Wilson, Yes, there is and the city is so named because of its Spanish influence. Of the 4 options, only Argentina makes any sense at all. It was a simple process of elimination. This might have been made more challenging by offering four countries favoring a Spanish influence.
