Kappa is an Italian sportswear brand founded in Turin, Piedmont, Italy in 1978 by Marco Boglione, as a sportswear branch of the already existing "Robe di Kappa". Kappa is today one of the world's leading sports and streetwear brands, and the symbolic Kappa logo has been worn by the world's biggest sports stars, from Italy's national football team to Juventus, Barcelona, Roma, Naples and many more. Kappa's history dates back to 1916, when the Italian Abramo Vitale founded the company "Calzificio Torinese", which dealt exclusively with the production of socks on the family's own farm.

In 1969, the famous Kappa logo was created during a photoshoot for Beatrix swimwear collection (Beatrix was at that time another brand that was also part of Maglificio Calzificio Torinese). This image later (in 1984) became the official Kappa logo, and it represents equality of men and women in the world of sports.
