What international cherry-related contest happens every year?

Every July since 1974, in Eau Claire, Michigan, USA, "The International Cherry Pit-Spitting Contest" has been held. There are no age restrictions – you just have to keep your hands at your sides – and everyone is given three cherries to spit.

The current record belongs to Brian "Young Gun" Krause, of Tuba City, AZ, USA, who spit a cherry pit a distance of over 93 feet 6.5 inches (28.51 meters). Apparently, the gift of cherry pit spitting runs in the family: His father, Rick "Pellet Gun" Krause, is also a 19-time cherry pit spitting champion.

In South Africa we do it with dried antelope pooh !! We call it 'bokdrol spoeg' in Afrikaans,translated meaning 'buck pooh spitting'.It is only dried plant material pellets,as antelope are herbivores.😄

First, you rinse your mouth out with water and place the moist pit in the curl of your tongue. You bend your knees, arch your back and snap it forward. At the back snap"s apex, snap your neck (yes, it sounds painfully dangerous, but don't worry) blowing (shooting) the pit from your curled tongue.
