Samuel Pack Elliott (born 1944) is an American screen actor who was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the 2018 film, ‘A Star is Born”.

His acting in this film also earned him the Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actor, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role, and a National Board of Review Award.

‘A Star if Born’ is a musical, romantic, Western film produced and directed by Bradley Cooper (born 1975) in his directorial debut. Lady Gaga (born 1986) is the featured female actress in the film. The plot follows a hard-drinking musician (Cooper) who discovers and falls in love with a young singer (Gaga). Elliott plays the role of Cooper’s half-brother and manager.

This is the fourth filmed version of the original 1937 film.

Elliott is also a voice-over actor. His voice has a deep, resonant quality. He has performed voice-over narration for various commercials and has lent his talented voice to campaigns for multiple companies and organizations.

Elliott has been married to actress Katherine Ross since 1984. She starred in ‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’ (1969), in which Elliott had a very small role, though no scenes included Ross with Elliott. The two did not meet again and begin dating until 1978 when they both starred in ‘The Legacy’.
