The three friends in the 1999 comedy film "Office Space" work at a company called Initech. These three employees are computer programmers who are frustrated and unmotivated in their jobs. By name, they are: Peter Gibbons played by Ron Livingston, Michael Bolton (David Herman), and Samir Nagheenanajar (Ajay Naidu). Also there is a guy who works with them; he is Milton Waddams (Stephen Root). Milton is a meek person who is always totally ignored by management and all other personnel trying to do their jobs.

Within this comedy, Initech is a company where the workers like to provide commentary on commuting, lunch breaks, office frustration, co-workers, and harsh layoffs. The office environment at Initech is such that many people want to simply quit their jobs. This is a company that must live or die by its reputation. Perceptions exist about internal scandals, a toxic work environment, lax security, and unethical business practices taking place. These things have caused Initech to garner disdain from a very large part of its workforce.

The three friends (Peter, Michael, and Samir) make jokes all the time about their corporate life and suffering. They finally conspire as cubicle cohorts to embezzle money from their soulless employer. With help and hindrance from their peers, including quotable nerd Milton, they seem to find some sanity and revenge to help end most of their suffering.
