Which is the only country that has won both the FIFA soccer world cup and the World Rugby union cup?

All the teams listed have won the FIFA world cup. England in 1966, France 1998, Argentina 1984 and 1978, Italy 1934, 1938, 1982 and 2006.

All four teams listed have an International Rugby Board (IRB) ranking team in the top 20 countries and have qualified and played in most of the Rugby world cups

Only England has also won the Rugby Union world cup in 2003

The only other teams to win the Rugby world cup are New Zealand (1987, 2011 and 2015) Australia (1991 and 1999) and South Africa (1995 and 2007)

I knew soccer (football)-mad England had won just the one World Cup in that sport, and that rugby is very popular there, so it wasn't too hard to get the answer.

France might win a rugby world cup one day. The 2023 tournament will be in France with home advantage they could do it.

Darlene Davidson, Rugby is played mostly in Commonwealth countries although France and Brazil have a big following.

George Oliver Prince, France and Italy are also teams in the Six Nations RFU championships, and Argentina has a very strong rugby team too.

My father, RIP, was at both the 1966 World Cup final, and at the the RFU World Cup win in 2003. I remember him saying "In order or England to win a world cup it must mean that I need to be there!" He did make me laugh, but these memories made it an easy question for me.
