From left to right is Walter Liberace, David Letterman and Bob Dylan. Liberace was born 'en caul".

Liberace's full name in English was Wladziu Valentino Liberace (1919-1987). He was a multi-talented pianist, singer and actor born to Italian and Polish parents. At the height of his fame from the 1950s to the 1970s, he was the highest-paid entertainer in the world, with established concert residencies in Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA. He also maintained an international touring schedule. He embraced a lifestyle of flamboyant excess both on and off the stage, acquiring the nickname "Mr. Showmanship" as well as "The Glitter Man." He died from pneumonia as a complication of AIDS. Liberace was born 'en caul' (Latin: 'Caput galeatum', literally, "helmeted head").

A caul or cowl is a piece of membrane that can cover a newborn's head and face. Birth with a caul is rare, occurring in fewer than 1 in 80,000 births. The caul is harmless and is immediately removed by the physician or midwife upon delivery of the child .

Liberace however was born "en-caul", not to be confused with a "caul" birth, "En Caul" occurs when the infant is born inside the entire amniotic sac. The sac balloons out at birth, with the amniotic fluid and the child remaining inside the unbroken or partially broken membrane. In some cultures, "en caul' is considered indicative of genius, good luck, or the promise of a prosperous future. Liberace had an identical twin who died at birth.
