Directed by Ridley Scott, 'House of Gucci' is a 2021 film based on the story of Patrizia Reggiani and the murder of Maurizio Gucci. Patrizia Reggiani (born 1948) is an Italian socialite who was convicted of hiring a hitman to kill her husband, the founder of the Gucci fashion house. Reggiani is played by the American singer Lady Gaga, and Adam Driver stars and Gucci. The film is based on the book 'The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed' (2001) by Sara Gay Forden, and also stars Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino.

Lady Gaga has Italian roots, but as she explained when accepting the role, she wanted her performance to be authentic and not like "an Italian-American woman but an Italian woman." For 9 months, she stayed in character speaking with an Italian accent.

She won a Golden Globe Award for her acting role in the television series 'American Horror Story: Hotel' in 2016, and starred alongside Bradley Cooper as the female lead in the 2018 movie 'A Star Is Born'.
