10 curious polar bear facts

International Polar Bear Day is celebrated on the 27th of February! 10 curious facts about polar bears will tell you a lot about these adorable animals.

Polar bears are so cute and loved by people. We usually see them in cartoons (remember Bernard?) or read about them in books. And in Inuit Mythology, polar bears symbolize dreadful natural forces! No wonder the Eskimos are afraid of them: polar bears are the largest land carnivores in the world.

Anyway, these unique animals are endangered nowadays. Constant climate change causes the Arctic ice loss while polar bears spend most of their time exactly on ice - it is their natural habitat. Today, polar bears are considered to be a threatened species, and everyone is welcome to help.

Did you know polar bears were vulnerable? Do you like these animals? What ways of helping them may be offered? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Good point. There is no scientific basis to definitively prove global warming exists or is caused by human activity. Funny how global warming and climate change weird science infiltrate mainstream pop culture. It's a figment of the overheated liberal false intellectual brain, lol

Agreed. Most of the literature I read now debunks the myth of global warming. In the 70's were were told by the same folks we were going into an ice age because the ozone layer was depleting. Then it was global warming because of carbon dioxide. For gosh sakes co2 is part of breathing and plants need it. When global warming didn't work out it became climate change. Give me a break it's all so a bunch of people can make money and take more of our money. Now even military planning must take it into account. Will the insanity never end?

The quickest and surest way to bring on global cooling is to do what volcanoes and meteor crashes have done in the past: put into the upper atmosphere enough dust and other material to reflect solar rays.

Number 8 is untrue. If polar bears reflected their enviroment, then the bear rolling in the field of flowers should be fuchsia! I also hate that this piece treats polar bears as "cute, fuzzy, non-threatening play-things". They are dangerous, endangered creatures, in need of our environmental protections and respect. This article is written from a child's point of view, making polar bears seem like Disney cartoons!
