360° degree light-paintings: enjoy it from all sides!

A 360 degree light-painting is something worth seeing! This year the Adobe MAX Creativity Conference visitors had a chance not only to check this out, but also to join the fun and be photographed from every side with 32 cameras at once!

Eric Paré believes: 360 degree bullet-time light-painting is the thing he does best. We can well believe it as well! A 360° light-painting structure he presented at the Adobe MAX is something amazing! 32 digital cameras perfectly synchronized and set in the structure took 4000 terrific pictures in 3 days. Almost 1000 guests took part! All the photos taken were immediately sent on the website for everyone to estimate and enjoy!

That's what is happening behind the scenes:

The results are amazing:

I'm missing the part where it's amazing. What part of this couldn't have been done quite a few years ago? Also missing the part where it's a painting.

Dot, it's art, which is creativity... this is basically a two dimensional interactive hologram...absolutely amazing. A good cause because it makes people think outside the box.

I guess it's one of those "You just have to be there" type of things, just not that interesting to me.

Color me philistine... I just don't get it. You call a painting a painting because it's done with paint. This, therefore, would at best be called a 'lighting'. Interesting... sure, why not. Amazing... ummm, not so much. "breakthrough to the future in photography", as I said previously; I just don't get it. It's just a different technique to create a presentation of pseudo time lapse photography--no big whoop.

I don't get it. I think of painting and I think of Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Frida Pinto but this doesn't say painting to me. It says Mobile Art to me but not painting.
