Check where you found the picture used for Mt. Shasta's snowfall but one thing is for sure--it wasn't taken in 1959. The cars are much more 1939 or even 1929 vintage.

Ugh!! Snow and cold you can have it that is one of the reasons why I moved to the south, it gets cold here but not as cold as it gets up north and if it snow's one day the next day you would'nt know it snowed the at all. I can deal with that.

The first thing I noticed in the Mount Shasta, 1959 were the cars. Unless the town was having an antique car show, these cars are more late 1920's early 30's. Just like William below stated.

In Indiana our worst snow fall was called the blizzard of " 76 " ! No one could drive down the street ! We had to walk to the store ! A lot of people were stuck at Fountain Square ! Our car was stuck in the street in front of our house and this policemen who was able to drive down the middle of the street while my vehicle was stuck at the curb told us to get the car off the street and my late brother in law who lived across the street at the time said something about what the policeman said but not to the policeman ! We did get the car off the street eventually !

They gave all the working folks unemployment payments for the lost week. The national had to come in with heavy equipment to clear the main roads. The snow drifts were so high in Lincoln, Rhode Island, that only about 6 inches of the tops of telephone poles were showing. That's what I remember about the blizzard of '78.
