The shape was not divided as the task asked. It was copied and pasted to make the same shape and therefore multiplied, NOT divided.

I thought we where to divide the original into 4 equal parts. Not add more parts. Do not get it.

Lets suppose this is a piece of delicious fudge I have to share with my 3 siblings. First cut forms 2 triangles. 2nd and 3rd cuts divide triangles into 4 pieces. *Grabs bigger triangle half.*

You have to change scale. The bigger picture is equivalent to the small one. Just scale copy it into the original figure and you get it! Got it???

I hate when my computer has a fart ; The solution shown is incorrect, divided the original shape into four equal parts susgesting they appear like the original in shape but obviously smaller the solution shown is taking the original shape and multipling original shape but maintaining the originall shape.

Exactly! The shape was not subdivided but the lines were extended to form a bigger shape, and if you want to be pedantic and strict then you have FIVE shapes, the 4 interior shapes and the one that forms the perimeter. Bad puzzle...

It is an outstanding solution to a different problem. The new problem is to phrase the challenge in such a way that the given solution fits ad a possible, and perhaps the only answer..
