Incredible video of a coach saving a girl gymnast from breaking her neck!

A Canadian girl gymnast made a mistake while performing an element on a horizontal bar. This mistake could have been fatal but for the girl’s coach whose reaction was amazingly quick!

It happened at the recent WAG Ontario Championships. The incident was captured by one of the videographers. Coach Vitali Laurentide was supervising his 11 year old student Caidance. As the girl fell toward the mat head first, the man quickly realized that she may end up with a possible broken neck. To save the girl, he applied his own gymnastic skills. We don’t know whether the girl received any award, but Vitali certainly deserves one!

This was not luck. It was the providence of the Almighty to have this wonderrul coaching assistant who was placing his TOTAL consentration on this girl. His focus was so sharp, he never noticed anything else around him. This girl is blessed to have such a caring coach!

Her neck was not in any danger... her hands were in place to break the fall and probably would've caused only a sprained wrist (due to hyperflexing caused by the thick mat). But I'll tell you what... that was cool to watch, and if I were a gymnast, or one of my daughters, I would feel very much safe in the hands of that guy!
