8 eight ounces glasses of water is 64 ounces, which is 1.89 Liters. So if you can't get the math right why should I believe any of your other assumptions.

You assume the glasses hold a volume of 1 cup. Perhaps the 8 made u draw that conclusion? Either way, most glasses are larger than 8 oz, and nowhere does it say 8 8 oz glasses.

I never drank water until I started having heart attacks from dehydration. Now I drink 4-16 oz water bottles EVERYDAY. I gave up coffee and tea also. I start at 9:30am and finish at 9:30pm and sleep all night through. Miss coffee. Don't miss the heart attacks. Thery're rough and don't get any easier even after 5 attacks.

I think the recommendation is actually about half your bodyweight in ounces, depending on your local climate.

I am glad I don't HAVE TO push myself to drink a lot of water. I drink a lot of water for the medicine reasons anyway. I guess I will not add too much more.

It al depends on your weight. Someone that is 300lbs needs much more water than someone who is 100lbs.

They talk about 2,5 liter. In Europe a glass of water is 250 ml x 8 is 2L. The rest ( 0,5 L ) is other drinks like limonade, beer, wine, coffee, milk; juice etc....

I used to go by the 8 glasses rule. But a lot of times I just cud not get that much water down. So I now go by when I'm thirsty, but since I now get easily dehydrated, I also check my pee: dark is bad. (means you really need water.) Pale, or clear, is good (means you have adaquate intake of water).

Chris Braun Do this google search how many glasses of water should we drink a day? The 1st hit you'll get is this one. EIGHT There are many different opinions on how much water we should be drinking every day. The health authorities commonly recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon. This is called the 8×8 rule and is very easy to remember. Subsequent hits also recommend 8 - 8 ounce glasses of water. So my conclusion was drawn on 67 years of getting the same information. As you can see your comment "nowhere does it say 8 - 8 ounce glasses. is blatantly incorrect. If you meant, no where in the question does it say that, it also doesn't say otherwise!
