Prince is not a pseudonym
During his life and artistic career the musician had lots of nicknames. In his childhood, he was known as Skipper. Then as The Kid, The Purple Purv, The Minneapolis Midget, Alexander Nevermind, Christopher Tracy and The Artist Formerly Known As Prince. But his real name was Prince Rogers Nelson in honor of his father's group "The Prince Rogers Jazz Trio".
A man of all talents
Prince's first album titled "For You" was released in 1978. All the songs of this album were composed, arranged and even played the instruments by the musician himself.
Camille is the name of Prince's female alter-ego. You can hear "her" voice in the songs
“If I was Your Girlfriend”.
No interview, please
Prince didn't like to give interviews, but when it happened, he didn't allow journalists to use a tape recorder or even a pen to note his words. He wanted them to concentrate on the music he made and not so much on him. There were some interviews where he preferred to keep silence.
Prince refused to sing the song "Bad" in a duet with Michael Jackson, who wrote it for them two.
Mayte Garcia is Prince's first wife. Only a few people know that he saw her in a video for the first time. Mayte's mother advised her to send videotapes of her belly dance to the singer. Although the girl was only 16, Prince started to communicate with her.
I only wanted to see you laughing in the purple rain
Prince's song Purple Rain initially lasted for about 11 minutes, but then was cut. It also spent 24 weeks at Number 1 on the Billboard charts.
Everyone dreamed of receiving a Golden ticket from Willy Wonka's Factory in childhood. Prince made the dreams of his fans come true. In 2006, he gave Purple tickets to lucky guys who got the opportunity to visit private concert in Prince's house. That was definitely the time of their lives!
Prince's favorite food was spaghetti and orange juice. He also used to eat many eggs.
We will always remember this legendary musician. His wonderful music will stay in our hearts forever.
