I knew one of the producers that turned them down. He said "Who wants another guitar band?" He suggested his friend George Martin. He told me that he's kicked himself ever since.

I will forever remember watching the Ed Sullivan Show when they were on it. I was a senior in high school, and that was the conversation of us girls as we walked to the bus stop the next morning. Recently my husband and I were in London and went on a Beatles Walking Tour. The guide took us to many of the hotels and bars where they had played. At one place which is now an Abercrombie and Fitch Store, there on display are autographed guitars of Paul & John. We also saw the bar "The Bag of Nails" where Paul & Linda met.Jimmy Hendrix had also played there The only place we didn't get to was Abbey Road as it was too far to walk to,but a great tour anyway. One more thing, when I bought the "Meet The Beatles" LP, my dad thought I had lost my mind. If he could only hear RAP and Hip Hop today!!!
