You are NOT going to like what I’m about to say, but you should think about it before you excoriate me for being cruel, insensitive, and inhumane. First, I’m not sure if English is your first language, but your grammar is atrocious! By that I mean to say it’s execrable! While I applaud, support, and even commend your love of animals, your almost complete failure to write an intelligible article and your equally ridiculous, completely over-the-top statements of goals make you sound like idiots! I’m sorry, even very sorry and saddened to tell you this but, my God, listen to yourselves! First: Animal rights? That’s a lot to bite off and difficult to chew. Of course I have to agree that there’s a lot of truth and justice in that view, but where do you draw the line? I agree that chickens, and other farm animals should NOT be confined to movement-restrictive cages, but prohibiting dogs from being used in sledding? (By the way, you should also check your word choice: “sledging”? NONSENSE). I’ve been to Alaska and have some experience with seeing sled dogs pulling sleds. They’re ecstatic! Overjoyed to be harnessed and love pulling in tandem. Their owners love and appreciate their dogs because their very lives depend on them to get from one frozen, inaccessible location to another, usually equally frozen and desolate. On that point, I will make this concession: Unless they are unchained, Secondly, Animals have souls? I’m not sure anyone or anything has a soul. However, if humans have souls, then, I’m pretty sure that logic tells us that anything living also has a soul! Plants? Why not? They’re alive aren’t they. If people have souls, dogs, cats, hamsters, owls, and roses also have souls! Nothing else makes any sense to me. Does that mean we should quit eating anything that has a soul? Well, you go ahead and follow that line of thinking. For me, I’ll eat animals and plants. Now, should intelligence be the deciding factor in what we choose to eat? I’m unalterably opposed to eating dogs or cats. I love them! But, guess what? Pigs are generally thought to have a more developed brain and more intelligence that either dogs or cats! You go ahead, if you choose, and eat nothing but vegetal les, but I’m gonna have some bacon and eggs! And no, I would not eat dolphin or any kind of whale! Elephants? Hell no! I would not shoot, or eat anything like that; Lions, Tigers, Cheetas, any kind of simians, snakes (unless I was starving) or a long, long list of other critters that I just plainly don’t consider to be on the menu! Where is your concern for the wholesale slaughter of dogs (and maybe cats too) in Thailand, Cambodia, Viet Nam, and China? How about the depredation of whales by the Japanese food industry? How about the inhumane, absolutely unsanitary practices of Muslim abbatoirs who have as their only concern that the animals they slaughter get an islamic utterance proffering their faith to “Allah?” Do you know, that’s the only concession to the animal that is given before it’s wrestled to the ground, it’s head held so as to stretch it’s throat to the knive? “Allah hu Akbar,” and they slit its throat? Listen, I applaud your love of animals, but humans are creatures that eat both meat and plants. That’s our nature . . . you’ve heard of nature, haven’t you? Well, you’re a part of it and so is everyone with whom you don’t agree., Civilized people can only do our best to protect precious lives of dogs and cats, but I’ll bet pigs would argue that they’re just as precious . . . if they could. I will NEVER stop fighting for the lives of dogs and cats, but pigs? Hey, man can’t be expect3ed to live without bacon, can he?

I agree with some of the above but animals are not equal to people. If a religion considers a certain animal sacred, then so be it. However, in general, animals are animals and people are people (I know- people are in the animal kingdom). Many of these same people wouldn't put a dog on a leash but would think nothing about killing a human child in his/her mother's womb. Priorities should exist and humans come first. Animals shouldn't be hurt or abused but neither should people.
