This unbelievable building in Italy can purify the air! 12/7/2016 • Frank Rezentes
If you agree that keeping the environment clean is important, then you'll like the thing that the Italians came up with. They developed a building consisting of eco-friendly materials that can purify the air.
The building is called the Palazzo Italia and located in Milan. It is covered with panels made of special material, the main aim of which is to purify the air from the smog, dust and detrimental compounds.
It's possible thanks to the particular combination of titanium dioxide and cement. This chemical constitution is capable of retaining nitrogen particles in the air that penetrats between panels, making it much cleaner.
Moreover, nitrogen particles are not only removed from the air, but converted into harmless substances (inert salt), which is washed off by the rain later.
And this is not the only feature of this eco-building. It consumes 40% less energy. The roof is covered with solar panels that can provide electricity for the entire building.
Italian scientists believe that if at least 15% of the buildings are constructed from eco-friendly materials, it will lead to a reduction of air pollution in more than 2 times.
