Sodium chloride (NaCl, sodium chloride) is the main component of salt we use while cooking at home. Sodium chloride contained in large amounts in the sea water (about 35 grams per litre), giving it a salty taste. It occurs in nature as the mineral halite (rock salt) . Pure sodium chloride is a colorless crystals , but with different impurities its color can take the blue, purple, pink, yellow or gray tint.
