I don't drink alcohol because a history of alcoholism runs heavily on both sides of my family going back generations. From the sounds of this presentation, I'm not missing anything.

Interesting. very clarifying. I understand and realize that alcohol is a problem. But the drinks we get by distilling, brewing, producing very pleasant drinkables from wheat, corn, barley, rye, potatato, rice (sake), is a fantastic discovery in human developement in history. As a matter of fact. it is and originally it was, liquid food. Cheers!!

The transcription was terrible. If you read and listen to what she is saying, the words do not always agree and often the spelling left something to be desired.

I drank enough from the time I was 16 to the time I was 30 that, if I never drink again, I will have far exceeded the average male lifetime consumption. Have about 10 drinks a year now. Miss it? Yeah!! The hangovers, the guilt, the mysterious injuries.

In fact, these drinks sound attractive - she did not say anything bad, only ultimately that they involve yeast - if you are afraid of yeast do not eat many cheeses (forget about Roquefort and any blue cheese :-) and bread. The one thing that is bad is not the grain but the resulting alcohol and, even, this in moderation is not bad, particularly wine. In France (where I live) many have lived to over a 100 drinking wine all their lives. The problem is exaggeration! The key is moderation!
