After they split up, which one of The Beatles had the first number one hit as a solo artist in 1970?

While touring with the band, Delaney & Bonnie and Friends in 1969 George wrote the song "My Sweet Lord" and it would become his first single and the first song to reach #1 by a Beatle as a solo artist.

Paul McCartney issued his own self-titled album "McCartney" in April of 1970 while announcing the break up of The Beatles. His solo career is by far the most successful of the other former Beatles with an estimated fortune of over $1 billion dollars. His eleven number one songs, Band On The Run, My Love, Uncle Albert/ Admiral Halsey, too many to list have put him in the Guinness book of world records with 31 NUMBER ONE songs if you include his songs with The Beatles.

John Lennon released a number of solo albums with his album "Imagine" being his most popular. His song "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" was his only #1 single as a solo artist released in1974, from the studio album titled "Walls and Bridges". Ringo Starr's first #1 song as a solo artist was "Photograph" released in 1973. He followed it up again with another #1 song "You're Sixteen" in 1973. His most popular song "It Don't Come Easy" reached #5 on the top 100 billboard in 1971.

My sweet lord and give me love are two of my favorite songs from George Harrison. The so called quiet Beatles. The talkative one is obviously John Lennon. The boy next door is Paul and Ringo looks like an Arab guy.
