"Frantic" is a 1988 American French mystery thriller directed by Roman Polanski. The stars are Harrison Ford and Emmanuelle Seigner. In this film, Ford's wife Betty Buckley disappears without a trace from a hotel in Paris, France.

First, one of the things to be noticed in the film is that the voices of the characters are low, flat and weary. Just like people should sound after a 12-hour flight from San Francisco to Paris. Here also, the key characters are happy to be in Paris, but would be happier to be in bed. This is where our main individuals spent their honeymoon, about 20 years ago. Now Dr. Richard Walker and his wife, Betty, are in Paris for a medical convention.

When they got off the airplane, there was some confusion with their luggage. Betty picked up the wrong bag at the airport. But everything else seems to be going perfectly when Walker steps into his hotel room shower. The phone rings, his wife answers it and says something, but Richard does not hear her. The shower water is running. By the time he steps out of the shower, she (Betty) has now disappeared.

So actions begin to find Betty as soon as possible. Will all the frantic efforts that are made be successful?
