The United States Department of Justice (DOJ) has an annual budget in excess of $27 billion. By using the funds within its budget, the DOJ as of 2017 has been able to employ approximately 11,000 attorneys nationwide. All of the attorneys who were hired had strong academic backgrounds, outstanding organizational skills, superior legal writing and research abilities, demonstrated analytical ability, good judgement and courtroom skills, and a commitment to professionalism, ethics, civility, and public service.
