Sam Snead (1912-2002) is the PGA tour leader in total victories with 82 (7 majors). He played from 1936 - 1965 and as such has been at the top of the leader board for 52 years. Tiger Woods is right behind Snead with 79 victories (14 majors) and was once seen as a shoo-in to, not only surpass Snead, but to demolish his record. However, at this point in time, Woods, with his serious and seemingly chronic physical injuries, has serious questions as to whether he'll ever even compete again, much less win more tournaments. In third place is the "Golden Bear", Jack Nicklaus, with a total of 73 tour victories including 18 majors (the all-time leader), followed by Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Byron Nelson and Billy Casper. The first currently active player on the list is Phil Mickelson with 42 wins and 5 majors, resting just behind Walter Hagen in 9th place overall.
