17 million people in 185 countries practice squash. The World Squash Federation has campaigned for inclusion in the Olympics since 1992. But, as of 2018, it has never been included in any Olympic Games.

Both golf and croquet were part of the 1900 Paris Olympics. Golf was also included in the 1904 St-Louis Olympics.

Lacrosse was in the 1904 St-Louis Olympics and in the 1908 London Olympics. It was a demonstration sport in the 1928, 1932 and 1948 Olympic games.

Among other sports never in the Olympics, we count chess and bowling.

Although commonly considered games or recreation, the International Olympic Committee recognizes both chess and croquet as sports.

The 1924 Paris Olympics scheduled chess but difficulties in determining professional versus amateur status of the players prevented the competition.

The 1988 Seoul Olympics had bowling as a demonstration sport.
