Laurence Fishburne (credited as Larry Fishburne) in the 1979 movie Apocalypse Now played the role of Gunner's Mate 3rd Class Tyrone "Mr. Clean/Clean" Miller. Fishburne in real life was just 14 years old when he played the seventeen-year-old cocky South Bronx-born Army crewmember.
Noting the fact, when production for the movie Apocalypse Now began in March 1976, Fishburne was then 14 years old; he lied about his age to get the acting job. Filming took so long, he actually was 17 years old when the film reached its total completion.

Bob Brandt, high did you read the same question I did? Because it says "At the start of the film, "Apocalypse Now," how old was actor Lawrence Fishburne?" No where does it indicate that they are looking for the age of his character. Open your mind as well as your eyes.

Question isn't clear. He was portraying a character that was 17. So at the start of the movie he was 17. It doesn't ask how old in real life.
