At which prison did Jim Rockford of "The Rockford Files" serve his twenty year sentence?

Unlike many fictional "private eyes" found on TV or in novels, films, plays, etc., Jim Rockford is an ex-convict, albeit one who was falsely imprisoned (at San Quentin Prison). He was later fully pardoned because new evidence showed that he had not committed the crime. In the TV series, Jim Rockford (James Garner) stars as an ex-con private eye who takes only cases the police can't solve. Jim's clients tend to be people who are considered low on the totem pole.

I didn't know he was pardoned from any crime or crimes before becoming such an asset to the local police department. That's awesome. A seasoned criminal or ex con can more easily get into seedy places or gain the trust of undesirable characters...makes sense to me. Good Q&A.
