Beach scenes from the movie 'Chariots of Fire' were filmed in which country?

In the 1981 movie 'Chariots of Fire', the beach scenes associated with the theme music were filmed at West Sands, St Andrews, Scotland. A plaque commemorating the filming can be found there today. The very last scene of the opening titles crosses the 1st and 18th holes of the golf course, Old Course at St Andrews Links.

Kids flock to this park, especially in the summer months, when there are attractions such as a miniature railway, boats, and crazy golf.
