This is the treasury facade of Petra in Jordan. Petra is an archaeological city which is considered Jordan's world wonder. It's half-built, half-carved into the rock, and is surrounded by mountains riddled with passages and gorges. Petra is also known as the Rose City, as it is built into the stone of rose-red color and has a reddish appearance.

The Arabic name of the treasury temple, by which the structure is known in the country, is Al Khazneh. Anyway, it is more popular around the world as Petra, which derives from the Greek word “petros” ("rocks").

This can be interesting: Petra is the most visited tourist attraction of Jordan. It was established as early as 312 BC as the capital city of the nomadic Arabs known as the Nabateans. In those times, Petra became a large trading hub, which helped the Nabataens to derive benefit.
