For which Olympic games was the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki built ?

Helsinki, the capital city of Finland, was awarded the rights to host the XII Olympiad in 1940. Unfortunately the games were cancelled (as was the XIII Olympiad due to be held in London in 1944) due to World War II. The stadium was built for the 1940 games but not used for the games until Helsinki hosted the XV Olympiad in 1952. When the war ended, Helsinki did not have sufficient time to organize the XIV Olympiad in 1948 which was held in London.

The only Olympic Games that took place in Helsinki happened in 1952! So, the only Games it was build for and actually happened are in 1952, not the ones that never happened. I don't think that a tricky question has to be approved, especially, if there were no other Olympic Games in Helsinki.

The question says for which games was the stadium built. It was built for the 1940 games. This is not a trick question. In fact, had the answer been 1952, that would have been a trick question.

Andrey Tarnarutskiy, It was not built for the 1952 games. It was built for the 1940 games which were cancelled due to WW 2.

Not a trick question. They broke ground in 1934 and opened the stadium in 1938 in anticipation of hosting the games in 1940. The games were then cancelled because of the start of WW II. The stadium was built for the 1940 Games not the 1952 Games. Next case.
