How long did it take Noah to build the Ark?

120 Countdown to the Flood begins Genesis 6:3

100 Noah has Japheth, the first of his sons, when he was 500 years old.

Genesis 5:32; 10:21

98 Noah has Shem who was 100 two years after the Flood. Genesis 11:10

Perhaps 95 or 96 the same time between Japheth and Shem. Ham was the youngest one born to Noah and was aboard the Ark so he was born prior to the Flood. Genesis 9:24; Genesis 7:13

Perhaps 20-40 years for all of the sons to be raised and find a wife Each son was old enough to be married before construction on the Ark begins. Genesis 6:18

55-75 years (estimate) Noah was told to build the Ark, for he, his wife, his sons, and his sons’ wives would be aboard the Ark. Genesis 6:18

If it will take less than three years to build a full-scale wooden replica of Noah’s Ark, it’s reasonable to think Noah could have done it in fewer than 70! Probably in less than 50.

This answer is wrong. The Bible does not give the exact time it took Noah to build the ark. Based on reasonable deductions through the information we do have, scholars agree that 55-75 years is the only amount of time we can hypothesize it took for the ark to be built. The explanation to this question even says the same. Terrible question. There is no definite answer. And the explanation supports a response different from what the author chose for the answer to be! This should never have been an approved question.

This calculation has me curious ....I am going to read the story again to come to the right conclusion....I had thought Noah and his wife had taken all three sons and their wives aboard the ark.....Does it not say in scripture how long Noah built the ark?

Nope! Not buying it not liking it,too damn controversial! Cannot put any kind of time frame to this,no reference gives any timeline to the arks construction! Besides the fact that the whole story of the flood and ark are unprovable,no scientific evidence,and the the same story told with different people!

A unanswerable question. To get the true answer we would need a time machine and go back prior to the birth of Noah. I don't think questions like this should be allowed.

The 120 years has nothing to do with the flood. Gen 5:32 states that "Noah was five hundred years old: and begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth." Nothing more about their births. For all we know, they were triplets. Noah, apparently was 500 when his sons were born, and 600 when the flood came. After the ark was completed, in Genesis 7:4, "For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth." No one knows how long it took. Just like the fruit that Adam and Eve ate. No one knows for sure it was an apple. It's only speculation.
