The flag of Norway incorporates the flags of six other countries: Indonesia, Finland, the Netherlands, Thailand, Poland, and France. This has a red with an indigo blue Scandinavian cross fimbriated in white that extends to the edges of the flag; the vertical part of the cross is shifted to the hoist side in the style of the Dannebrog, the flag of Denmark.

It resembles the blue cross in red field. The flag of Norway is considered to be one of the many flags all over the world that has a rich history and it is considered to be the mother of all Flags. It was officially adopted on July 17, 1821 and designed in 1821 by MP Fredrik Meltzer (1779-1855). It is based on the Danish flag, the Dannebrog, marking the union with the Kingdom of Denmark.

The red, white and blue colors are said to be influenced by the French Tricolor (as a symbol of liberty). Inspiration also came from the flags of the United Kingdom and the United States. The off-centered white cross (The Scandinavian Cross) is taken from the Danish flag, and the blue cross is the Cross of Sweden.
