During the first round match at the 1987 Wimbledon men's tournament Stefan Edberg restricted Stefan Eriksson to only 35 points and three game points in the entire match. Edberg became the third player in Open Era (post-1968) Grand Slam history to win 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.

Stefan Edberg couldn`t believe it. "I just kept going," said the third-seeded Swede after he defeated countryman Stefan Eriksson in 18 successive and swift games in the first round at Wimbledon Tuesday. "I've never won a match in three love sets before and I felt a little bit sorry for him," Edberg said. "We`ve had close matches before." But Eriksson had never played on grass before, and it showed. "If you`ve never played on grass before, it can be very difficult," said Edberg, who has won the Australian Open on grass twice.
