As depicted in the film, the Taco Bell restaurant chain wins the Franchise Restaurant Wars in the future. The Taco Bell chain is the only restaurant chain left to serve the public in Demolition Man (1993). It was a fine dining establishment, complete with valet parking and a dance floor.

Because Taco Bell was not widely available outside of the United States, the European version of the film substituted Pizza Hut for Taco Bell. The movie scenes and lines were re-dubbed, and logos were changed to Pizza Hut during post-production operations.
