Bugs Bunny, in his eternal quest to reach a vacation spot via Albuquerque, accidentally arrives in Paris' restaurant district. Two chefs, Louis and François, spot Bugs and fight to be the first to use Bugs as a dinner ingredient. Bugs plays off the hapless Frenchmen's greed by offering to teach them a recipe created by Antoine of New Orleans. Bugs tricks François into believing he has a recipe for "a good old Louisiana Back-bay Bayou Bunny Bordelaise, a la Antoine" from the famed Antoine's of New Orleans.

François asks for the recipe, which Bugs refuses, but insists on demonstrating on him. So he disguises François as a rabbit, dips him in wine, pickles him, and stuffs him full of every spicy ingredient in the kitchen before placing him in flour and into a bowl of vegetables. By the time Bugs' cooking demonstration is complete, neither chef is able to bag their rabbit.

Antoine's, established in 1840, is a world-renowned french-Creole restaurant and birth place of Oysters Rockefeller. It is located in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana. The restaurant has hosted multiple US presidents, and Pope John Paul II. During prohibition, Antoine's served alcohol in coffee cups in a room called the Mystery Room. The extensive contents of Antoine's wine cellar were destroyed due to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Since then, $10,000 per week is dedicated to replenishing the wine cellar.
