On the ABC 1991 - 1998 American TV sitcom "Home Improvement" starring Tim Allen as Tim Taylor, the name of the home repair show that is hosted by Allen (Taylor) is called Tool Time.

In the series, each episode includes the Binford city sponsored home improvement show where Tim is the star. This is a genuine situation where a "meta-program" or show-within-a-show is used by the network to make the show very successful.

In hosting his show, Tim is joined by his friend and mild mannered assistant Al Borland (Richard Karn), and a "Tool Time girl". The one was first Lisa (Pamela Anderson) and later Heidi (Debbe Dunning). The Tool Time girl's main duty was to introduce Tim and Al at the beginning of each show. She would say the following line: "Does everybody know what time it is?" She would also assist Tim and Al during the show by bringing them various types of tools.

The show "Home Improvement" was one of TV's most celebrated and hilarious comedies. This series puts that topic of comedy up front and center in the show. Launched from the stand-up comedy of Tim caused the sitcom to rest on his endearing, befuddled machismo, as the host of the how-to-build-stuff show, Tool Time. He also found that raising three sons and being a supportive husband wasn't always as easy as using power tools.

In its eight season run, this show received numerous awards and nominations. They include: Golden Globe Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, and many others.
