In which European city is the famous 'Spanish Riding School' located?

The Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria, is a traditional riding school for Lipizzan horses, which perform in the Winter Riding School (Winterreitschule) in the Hofburg. Not only is it a centre for classical dressage, the headquarters is a tourist attraction in Vienna that offers public performances as well as permitting public viewing of some training sessions. The presentation builds on four centuries of experience and tradition in classical dressage. The leading horses and riders of the school also periodically tour and perform worldwide.

The Spanish Riding School is located between Michaelerplatz and Josefsplatz near the Hofburg in central Vienna.

billyboy915, We Britons do not hate Americans, stop being so insular. As for hating because no longer a colony, what a ridiculous idea that is. You sound so insecure. I for one love America and, having visited a few times, love the majority of the people. Yes, every now and then we see anti America protests but these are a minority, and anyway nothing that you don't see anywhere else in the world, including the USA. So lose the attitude and the bitterness and just play the bloody quiz instead of touting your obvious anti Britishness!

I've seen the Lipizzan Stallions perform twice, here in Canada, and was absolutely awestruck. They are SO beautiful, and literally 'dance' across the arena

The author does not mention the breeding there of the beautiful Lippizzan horses, who are born black and turn white at maturity.

silrem, I’m not a European, didn’t ever go there for an”upper class cultural education”, I just happened to be in Vienna strolling around on my own while awaiting to meet a group later on for an Eastern Europe tour I was going on. That’s when I came across this information in 2005. That’s all!
