Name the only President that was never married?

James Buchanan (1791-1868) Served as the 15th President of the United States (1857-1861). He is the only president elected from the state of Pennsylvania, and held office just prior to the Civil War. His niece Harriet Lane served as hostess to the White House. Although there are many theories about Buchanan none have ever been proved, such as a broken heart from his engagement to Anne Coleman, who broke off their engagement after his visit to another lady friend. Others say it was because of his living arrangement with William King, which lead to belief that he was homosexual, living with King for over 10 years. Then others suggest it was because of his flirtatious nature, where he supposedly courted Sarah Polk (Widow of President Polk).
