When you meet Will Truman (Eric McCormack) and Grace Adler (Debra Messing) on the NBC TV series "Will & Grace" (1998 - 2006), Grace is a sassy and smart interior designer, and Will is a gorgeous and super-cool lawyer. They're both looking for love, and it appears that they're made for each other. However there is one major item in the way - Grace is straight, Will is gay.

When Will meets Grace as a freshman at a party at Columbia University, they become immediate friends. Their friendship as best friends will last long beyond their first meeting at the university. In the series, they become roommates, and this is something that remains throughout most of the show. Their relationship as friends and/or something else is a key focus of the entire show.

Their lives are complicated even further by their outrageous friends, Karen Walker (Megan Mullally) and Jack McFarland (Sean Hayes). Jack has been Will's friend since college; he meets Karen early on in the show. They (Jack and Karen) establish a very close friendship, spend a good deal of time together, and orchestrate various pranks that often involve Will and Grace.
