The "Trail of Tears" is associated with the relocation of what American Indian Tribe?
In 1838 and 1839, as part of Andrew Jackson's Indian removal policy, the Cherokee nation was forced to give up its lands east of the Mississippi River and to migrate to an area in present-day Oklahoma. The Cherokee people called this journey the "Trail of Tears," because of its devastating effects.

The Trail of Tears was a series of forced removals of Native American nations from their ancestral homelands in the Southeastern United States to an area west of the Mississippi River that had been designated as Indian Territory. The removal included members of the Cherokee, Muscogee, Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw nations.
It isn't "ASSOCIATED" with the Cherokee. It "ORIGINATED" with the Cherokee. ALL ANSWERS except Cheyenne, SHOULD BE CORRECT!

And yet, another shameful chapter in American history. Jackson should be removed from the US $20 bill. Why should we "honor" this "war hero" in any way? This monster was responsible for the organized genocide of indigenous peoples. He was not the kind of American we should be admiring.

Seminoles were also relocated, as were the Choctaw, Chickasaw, & Creek. These, along with the Cherokee were termed the five civilized tribes.

timthomas, yes but it was the English kings and Spanish Kings that decided that they could sell this land to the columnists Because the explorers that think the discovered this land ignored th fact that there were already people here who were not savages at least not all of them

Doesn't anyone read the information following the answer? The Cherokee named it the Trail of Tears. While other tribes were relocated, the Cherokee forced relocation original Trail of Tears...
