The Singapore Sling is a gin-based cocktail from Singapore. This drink was developed sometime before 1915 by Ngiam Tong Boon, a Hainanese bartender working at the Long Bar in Raffles Hotel, Singapore.The alcohol is Gin. The other two ingredients will always be Cherry Liqueur and Pineapple juice.

While the remaining ingredients may vary, it will not be a "Singapore Sling" without these three.

As an example, a bartender's guide lists the following ingredients: 3 cl Gin,1.5 cl Cherry Liqueur (cherry brandy), 0.75 cl Cointreau, 0.75 cl DOM Bénédictine,1 cl Grenadine,12 cl Pineapple juice,1.5 cl Fresh lime juice,1 dash Angostura bitters. Preparation: Pour all ingredients into cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes. Shake well. Strain into highball glass. Garnish with pineapple and cocktail cherry.

Served: Well shaken, with ice.

The other choices were for :

  • Blue Hawaiian (rum, curacao, pineapple juice);
  • Tom Collins (gin, lemon juice, carbonated water);
  • Bloody Mary (vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice).
