The enigmatic O.J. Simpson was never named Sports Illustrated Magazine's "Sportsman of the Year".

The "Juice" did win the 1968 Heisman Trophy as the most dynamic college football player for that year. In 1973, the same year he became the first running back to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a season (he had 2,003), he was named the Most Valuable Player of the Pro Bowl which is the NFL's All-Star game.

On March 26, 1995, Simpson won the Razzie for "Worst Supporting Actor" in a film for his performance in "Naked Gun: 33 1/3". The Golden Raspberry Awards are the opposite of the Oscars and honor the worst performances and films of the previous year.

Ironically, it was three months later that Simpson was involved in the infamous "White Bronco" chase on the California highway after he was indicted for the murders of the his ex-wife Nicole Brown-Simpson and Ronald Goldman.
