What country has the world's longest coastline?

Debra Bloch Sackstein, Not all of Canada is cold. The west coast in particular has fairly mild weather (not Palm Beach warm, buy you won't freeze your ears off.) We have universal health care. We have reasonable gun laws. We encourage immigration which adds to our cultural mosaic. We DO get involved in other country's wars but more often in a peace keeping role. However we did take an active role in Afghanistan. Come up and visit. We'll make you welcome.

They have great health care. Don't listen to the propaganda that the media and gov have crammed down our throats.

Canada is not only beautiful, but the Canadians are fantastic neighbors. Thank you Canada!

Our healthcare is not perfect and some wait times can be lengthy, but it is all triage based. So depending on urgency, and you have a serious or life threatening illness you go straight to the top of the list. When it was discovered that I had breast cancer, I had all of the needed tests and in surgery in exactly 2 weeks, I only waited that long was because the surgeon I had chosen was on vacation. Out of pocket expenses....zero.

Yet another Canadian weighing in. I am not sure what they are measuring but our coastline has some very large islands on all three coasts and as well a big bite called Hudson's Bay and of course the St Lawrence River and the Great Lakes. Thanks Bill for pointing out that it is not all cold and that we do have health CARE, and that we do care for others etc. etc. and Suzy of course there is a difference between care and insurance but we have both and yes we have a cute leader and only one teeny tiny scandal whereas our neighbours have a new scandal every half hour it seems

Canada is a civilized country that provides health care for their people. Canada also refrains from getting involved in other countries wars. If it wasn't so darn cold there it might be a viable alternative to live there. I live in southeast Florida, Palm Beach county.

We will provide train service from our Southern Border direct, non stop to Canada and let Canada open their doors to all these people the world expects the U.S. to just take in because there are there. Debra Bloch Sackstein, just FYI in Victoria, BC, Canada Palm tree's and flowers grow year round. And up island from Vicoria Tofino, BC has some of the best surfing outside of Hawaii.

Canada best to visit intelligent lovely people great theatre half of Niagara Falls ,very big and a British way of life .However small is beautiful which and is why Great Britain remains the country to come home to with what is most important a “a cockney sense of humour “ . We are four countries very multicultural competitive but more important “kind”.

douglaspollard, "Hudson's Bay" is a department store... but the Great Lakes have lakefronts, and the St. Lawrence River has a riverfront, these are not "coastlines" - a "coastline is a line connecting the most seaward promontories into the sea". Still, Canada wins, hands down. Depending how things end up in November, I may be moving up there (as soon as they will let us in, I guess).

Rob Allen, Yes Rob I have been to many most excellent and beautiful beaches in Australia but my favorite beaches are found around Vancouver and Vancouver Island. I think if you tried these ones you would be impressed. You also don't have to worry about sharks, crocs, stinging jellyfish, stingrays, stinging coral, poisonous shellfish, poisonous plankton or biting sea lice to name a few. Cheers
