What crayon did Crayola rename to "peach" in 1962?

The color "Flesh" by Crayola was renamed "Peach" completing an odd transition from Flesh-Tint to Flesh to Pink Beige, back to Flesh and finally to Peach.

I live near Crayola. The company is active in the Easton community. Lots of neighbors and friends work there. They have a wonderful Crayola Experience museum/activity center in downtown Easton. Lots of schools run day trips there.

Think about a child picking up the first "big" box of crayons - "what is flesh?" It's not skin color for many kids.

Political correctness/ racial sensitivity aside, calling the color "flesh" has a certain inherant unpalatable nature to it.

I Also used brown very lightly if I wanted people of color in my PIC. Most of the time though it was just one girl in it which I expressed as me.

Glad to see the Crayola Company is racially sensitive, but technically isn’t peach the color of the cheeks????? That is what many companies call their rouge!
