What does it actually mean when someone says "There's a 30% chance of rain in New York today"?
People find percentage probabilities confusing since future events either happen or they don't. Either it rains or it does not. But the 30 percent refers to the chance of rain, not to the rain itself.
30% refers to having 10 days that had same weather data conditions, 3 days will get rain. So there is 70% chance of no rain.

I don´t agree with QuizzClub answer, since that expression refers to the probability that at least some minimum quantity of precipitation will occur within a specified forecast period and location.

No answer option is even close to being correct. A 30% chance of rain means that there's a 3 in 10 chance that the area will get some rain.

The chance of rain occurs daily and is forecasted by the news for that day, not for a chance in 10 days.
