Donna Summer's 1975 smash hit "Love To Love You Baby" was banned by the BBC and some radio stations in the United States because the song was deemed too "raunchy and risqué". The highlight of the tune was 22 moans and groans by Summer that had censors blushing. The singer also claimed years later she was embarrassed by the song.

Summer, who died in 2012 after a long bout with cancer, was dubbed the "Queen of Disco" as her songs propelled her to superstardom in the 1970s. The five-time Grammy Award winner had four songs rated No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 including "MacArthur Park", "Hot Stuff", "Bad Girls" and "No More Tears" which was a duet with Barbra Streisand.

Summer was enshrined in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
