Paul Henderson sent the puck into the net behind Soviet goaltender Vladislav Tretiak, giving Canada its groundbreaking victory against Russia in the Canada/Soviet hockey series (Summit Series). Canada won the game 6-5 on Henderson's final goal, with only 34 seconds remaining.

Paul played in the NHL for 13 season and in the WHL for 5 years, playing over 1,000 games between the two major leagues, scoring 376 goals and 758 points. He played in 2 NHL All-Star Games. He is best known for his game winning goal in 1972's Canada/Russia game.

Henderson is a born-again Christian who became an ordained minister, motivational speaker and author, writing 3 books about hockey and his life. In 2012, Henderson was made a Member of the Order of Canada, and in 2014 became a Member of the Order of Ontario.
