A group of stingrays is called a fever. While hunting, these creatures always move in such groups, but sometimes they also travel alone or in pairs. Stingrays belong to the superorder Batoidea, which also includes sawfish, skates and electric rays. Their closest cousins are sharks, even if they differ a lot from the batoid.

Stingrays are considered scary-looking fish, as they have unique barbed tails. Anyway, stingrays may attack others only for purposes of defense. When you are swimming in a place where stingrays can be met, try to shuffle your feet not to step on one of them: this way you can avoid getting stung.
